Saturday 26 June sees the opening of the country’s music event of the year: Andorra Mountain Music, a music festival featuring a line-up of big-name DJs and vocalists. If you still don’t have tickets for any of the concerts, the Information and Customer Service Point at illa Carlemany shopping centre – the centre of Andorra – is one of only two official sales points.
Over six consecutive Saturdays – the last Saturday in June and every Saturday in July – you can enjoy performances by Armin Van Buuren, Mónica Naranjo, Bob Sinclar, Don Diablo, Texas, and closing act David Guetta in a beautiful mountain setting, out in the open at an altitude of 1,800 metres. These artists will appear on a stage installed on the Soldeu platform, which stretches over the Valira d’Orient river at the foot of Grandvalira’s Avet slope, at 9 p.m. each Saturday evening. From 6 p.m., however, the open-air venue is open to the public, with a large car park, public toilets, and a restaurant area with various gastronomic offerings. From that time onwards, you can dance to the rhythm of music from the national and international supporting acts.
Any of these concerts is a good excuse to visit Andorra, but the first, which almost coincides with Saint John’s Day, would make a great start to the summer. And there are plenty of good recreational options to take advantage of your stay in Andorra over the Andorra Mountain Music weekends, discovering the landscapes, enjoying the Romanesque architecture, and shopping at illa Carlemany!
