On Thursday 26 November, the illa Carlemany shopping centre will bring in the Christmas season with the traditional lighting of festive decorations. Our majestic tree, more than ten metres high, will again preside over the central space at illa Carlemany, adorned with lights, baubles, sparkles, and glitter.
Unlike other years, and due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance at the lighting cannot not be offered, but this year you can follow the event from the comfort of your own home, with the whole family, as it will be broadcast by Televisió d’Andorra just before the evening news, and also on the website www.nadalailla.ad, an online space dedicated exclusively to everything that illa Carlemany has programmed because, despite the current circumstances, we will be celebrating Christmas festivities this year.
Figures such as Quim Masferrer, comedy duo Mònica Pérez and Jordi Rius, and actor Jose Corbacho have previously hosted the countdown to our traditional lighting of Christmas decorations, always accompanied by Piolet and local musicians or groups, such as the Petits Cantors d’Andorra choir. This year we will honour all the people who keep the centre open every day: the workers and the staff of all our establishments. With local performers providing music and a melody created especially for the occasion, we’ll welcome Christmas 2020 from the centre of Andorra!
