Christmas in Andorra

Andorra is an ideal backdrop to live the magic of Christmas. The festively lit streets, markets and fairs, concerts, shows and traditions will give you the feeling that you’ve just stepped into a postcard.

The lighting of the holiday lights marks the start of the fiestas, and at illa Carlemany, we hold a big party for this moment, which coincides with Black Friday. We are the first to welcome Christmas to Andorra, and by 8th December, the day of the Immaculate Conception, all the parishes are decked out with their Christmas decorations.

Andorra dresses up in colourful lights and each of the parishes offers festive activities including the life-size nativity figures of Canillo, the Santa Llúcia Fair in Sant Julià de Lòria, and the Living Forest and the Christmas Village in Ordino. You will also enjoy the “Ara ve Nadal” schedule of activities in La Massana, the Advent Calendar and the Children’s and Youth Fare in Encamp, the Christmas Village in Andorra la Vella -with all the parallel activities and shows– and the Living Nativity Scene of Escaldes-Engordany. At Christmas time, we also celebrate the arrival of Santa Claus to all the main towns in the country on 24 December, and the traditional Three Wise Men Parade draws the festivities to a close. Particularly worthy of mention is the parade that Escaldes-Engordany and Andorra la Vella hold together, as a finale of the Christmas activities in Andorra!
